New Spirits!

Hello people, some exciting new spirits came in last week.  Tons of new scotch and one new micro-distiller.

Here's what's new in the spirit section:

Boomsma Genevers from Holland.  Genever is the original gin and has been gone from our market for almost two years.  Genever comes in two styles Oude and Jonge, and is distilled from a malted grain mash similar to malt whisky, and usually aged in oak casks for 1-3 years.  Oude (old) genevers are straw in color and tend to be sweet and aromatic.  Jonge (young) genevers are typically more dry with a light body, similar to London Dry gin.  Give your a martini a different twist with these fantastic products!

Single, single malt vodka from Italy is in.  A vodka distilled from 100% malted barley, a grain almost exclusively used by brewers and malt whisky makers.  It has a delicate and gorgeously rounded aroma not usually found in vodka, and is strikingly sweet on the palate.

Caribou Crossing Single Malt, and Royal Canadian Small Batch whiskies from Canada.  From the Sazeac Co., one of the most innovative spirit companies in the world right now come a couple of fantastic Canadian whiskies, both limited for now.  South Lyndale has three cases of each so come by and have a taste of a couple of very interesting whiskies from north of the border.

The Glenrothes Select Reserve Speyside single malt. A new product from Glenrothes crafted to represent the character of the distillery. Select Reserve, their "house" style whisky, has notes of citrus and ripe fruits, vanilla and hints of spice. With no age statement or vintage, the Select Reserve is a more affordable, every day dram for any malt whisky lover.

That's all this week, check back soon for a list of new spirits at South Lyndale.  I plan to be as eager to post on the site as I am in bringing new and exciting products to the shelves!

Thanks,

PJ
