A local Bitters Company owned by Egbert is an avid mixologist who has his own line of bitters, tinctures and cocktail salts called Dashfire. McManus is the science nerd. He has a degree in microbiology and an interest in the history of distilling in Minnesota that borders on obsession.
Cocktail: Amaro Amore
Ingredients: 1.5 oz Gin, 0.5 oz Aperol, 0.5 oz. Saint Germaine, 3 drops Dashfire bitters
Preparation:Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and gently stir. Strain into chilled glass. Garnish: Orange twist
Cocktail: Dashfire Cocktail
Ingredients: 1 oz. Bourbon, 0.5 oz Benedictine, 0.5 oz Semi-dry Sherry, ½ Bar Spoon Galliano, 1 Luxardo Cherry, 5-7 Drops of Dashfire bitters
Preparation: Combine ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and gently stir. Strain into chilled glass.

Kilchoman Islay single malt winter 2010 Release
WOW! This is one of the most interesting malts I’ve ever had from Islay. Kilchoman possesses a wonderfully complex nose of campfire and smoking leather with an almost cyan pepper spice underneath. The front of the palate is sharp and dry, moving to a smooth, slightly oily smoke infused mid palate pricking with heat. The finish is a balanced mineral laced, Smokey, spicy wonder that rides for quite some time. Overall, the balance of flavors and weights makes this an incredibly easy dram, both visceral and ephemeral at the same time.
Bulleit Small Batch “95” Rye whiskey
Bulleit expands on their popular Kentucky straight bourbon with this rye based whiskey. Using a 95% rye mash bill, this small batch whiskey weighs in at 45% ABV. The nose is all sour and spicy grain. The mouthfeel is angular malt and a warming sweetness, finishing in a light, crisp spiciness that rides slowly off the palate. This is the perfect ingredient for your classic rye cocktails, such as the Manhattan.

Ok, you’re going to have to trust us on this one. I thought this was going to be gag-inducing, but tasting is believing. Nut Liquor from Pandora Spirits brings a flavor more akin to fresh roasted peanuts than jiff and white bread.
