Wine Pairings from Lake & Irving

We’ve partnered up with Lake & Irving to find some perfect pairings between their food and our wine!

First up, Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich:

Buttermilk battered marinated chicken breast, topped with pepper jack cheese, bacon, and spicy aioli. Served on toasted sourdough.

This sandwich has been a customer favorite since we opened. A delicious pairing that Mitch inspired is the Baron Seillac Brut Rose from Provence, France. Its 100% Grenache. A soft floral nose, dry palate, with hints of white cherries and red berries, beautiful acid structure that rivals the richness of the sandwich.

Warm Goat Cheese Plate

Laura Chenel Goat Cheese with a balsamic reduction drizzle, basil oil, cherry tomatoes, and fried capers. Served with toasted Patisserie 46 baguette crostini’s

This plate a simple yet extremely flavorful. A great dish for any season, the tangy-ness of the cheese is complemented by the richness of the balsamic reduction. The cherry tomatoes give the cheese a bright freshness, and the fried capers- a lip smacking salty crunch.

Ideal wine pairing- with how tangy and fresh this plate is, I’d recommend a wine with an equal amount of freshness. Tangent Sauvignon Blanc from Edna Valley California is a surprisingly lean and clean Sauv Blanc from the New World. Notes of white pear, lemon, and grapefruit zest. Crisp minerality, long finish with balanced acids.
